The Northern Ireland Volleyball Association’s stated Vision is “to foster the sport of volleyball as a human endeavour”.

Volleyball is a participant oriented sport which provides a quality experience to all participants. It is participated in throughout a person’s lifetime and provides everyone with the opportunity to be involved. The sport is based on strong values of community teamwork and communication and plays an important role in the education process. It includes all groups and individuals who wish to be partners in its delivery system and is oriented toward the achievement of excellence appropriate to the abilities and desires of its participants, backed up by appropriate facilities.

In 2013 “If any person in Northern Ireland wants to play volleyball, there is an outlet, at a level that is appropriate to you, where you can play volleyball”.

Strategic Goals:
• To be a “fit for purpose” Governing Body resulting in a “reasonable” SNI assurance rating
• To provide world class support services to players, teams and coaches enabling continued NI representation within all indoor disciplines at Great Britain level.
• To put systems in place to provide athletes with a foundation in fundamental skills
• To increase the quantity and quality of schools playing volleyball.
• To increase the number and location of junior and senior clubs in NI.
• To provide links between schools with clubs
• To extend the “SELB talent ID scheme for U11s” across all ELB areas.
• To increase the quantity and quality of the sources of talent enabling Talent Selection and Talent Identification
• To support Talent ID and development by the implementation of a proven Talent ID system.
• To put in place a system to recruit coaches and intelligently deploy these resources in targeted areas
• To put in place a system to quality assure our coaching workforce
