It was a tough start in day one. The Northern Ireland Youth girls team started with a convincing 2-0 win over Wales (25-18, 25-11) and then went on to face tournament favourites England central  and pushed them hard and led for a major part of the second set but couldn't close it out and went 2 sets down (18-25, 20-25). the girls must now beat England south in the morning to progress to the final four. 

The Northern Ireland Youth boys had a tough day and Suffered two defeats to Scotland west and England north and they now enter the playoff tournament for a placing between fifth and seventh.
